This hasn’t been his first run in with the police, but it was the first since he became a Ranger, which was honestly surprising. He could already HEAR his dad’s speech about responsibility when Jason was out of here. He tried not to think about though, and instead looked around him while in the Sheriff’s office since he was firmly sat there and told not to move. He supposed it was decorated nicely.
He didn’t even notice the door open at first, but he WAS surprised when he saw a small blonde girl (pre-teen Jason assumed) instead of Chief Hopper.
“Oh, hello.” Jason smiled politely. “Any chance you’d be here to bust me out?”
▌█ ∵ 🏥 ∵ █ Needing her extra inhaler as she got in a small shoving match with Troy she had found herself sneaking, more or less, into her dads office. Once inside the door was opened before quietly shut only to raise her eyebrows seeing someone else in the room. It was rare that her dad every made himself do work that could be handled. So whatever this guy was in here for she assumed was serious.
Eyebrows rising at his question as she walked to her dads desk. Opening and closing a few drawers before finding the inhaler and crossing her arms over her chest
❝Well, that depends. I want five dollars so I can finally out rank my friend at the arcade. And I want to know what you did to get in here.❞
▌█ ∵ 🏥 ∵ █ ▌Arms wrapped around him tightly as cheeks were stained from previous tears. She hated the fact that some nights she would have these moments. Reliving everything, flat lining, the chemotherapy, having everything come back. Trapped in the same pale room for her whole life never getting to see the outside world, stars ever again. Deep inhale as body shook face now buried in her fathers clothing before shaking her head. ❝I-I hate this. It’s all just.❞ Words interrupted by sobs, nights like this she often wondered if maybe it would have been better if she never woke up. She hated to even think that but; sometimes in the dark days it lingered in the back of her brain like that of a ghost. Which, in some cases was what she went through was for her a ghost of her past.❝Why can’t I just be normal, why do I have to deal with this stuff?❞

▌█ ∵ 🏥 ∵ █ ▌A look of surprise on younger girls features before laughter took over. This had to be a joke, it had to be because she knew she was far from inspiring. She was just impulsive, and often times stupid how she could inspire anyone to be a better person was a puzzle even the bright girl could not figure out. But, after a moment laughter faded as she noticed how serious Nancy was. Eyebrows raising before head tilted and shook the softest bit ❝That is supposed to be the other way around you know?❞
▌█ ∵ 🏥 ∵ █ ▌Bright smile falling to lips as head tilted to the side. Shifting in her seat before closing book. ❝I wish we funded space now like we did when JFK was in office.❞ Fingers following art on the cover of book head tilting at light home before she began to cough. Quickly pulling inhaler from bag and using it before sighing softly.❝And I wish I could just be the first damn space cop. Stupid lungs. But, I guess being able to read about it is just as cool you know.❞
